WhiteOak's Witches Brew Recipes

WhiteOak's Witches BrewI am a tea drinker!  A day does not go by that I do not drink tea and in the summer it is usually Green Tea.  So I was thinking, why couldn’t I make a Black Witches Brew and turn it into a punch?  So this is my Witches Brew concoction.  What is better in the autumn than those rich, spices and those tart apples?

How to make your witches brew look even more ghoulish!

-Fill an ice tray with a gummy worm and water freeze and add to brews.  As the ice melts, it will let the worms loose and free to roam!!

-To add a floating hand, fill a latex glove with water and tie off with a knot or rubber band then freeze. After the hand is frozen, run under a little warm water to loosen and remove the latex glove. Add to brew!!

-To make your brew glow add glow sticks as your swizzle sticks.

-One of the cutest things to do but it is time-consuming is to peel grapes and freeze them. After they are frozen add to the brew... while they melt, the slimy texture will fill the cauldron and as the peeled grapes go into your mouth... the slime will feel like an eyeball!!

Goth Halloween

Click on the link to read the full Article!!

Throwing a Goth Theme Party:  I seriously believe that a Gothic Halloween Party theme could actually be the same as the Twilight Halloween Party Theme.  So why did I create different recipes?  Oh, well… because it is fun to do, I guess!

I love the Goth Culture.  I have had friends all over the country that I met via the net and in person.  I love the style, the uniqueness and the individuality of Goth’s.  I find them stylish in a very unique way.

Okay, so here it is... if you are going to sit and watch a good Goth-themed movie, concert, have a party or just freaking want to hang out.. here is a great little snack you can enjoy!!

Fang-licious Popcorn

Pop some popcorn and allow it to cool in a large bowl.  In a double broiler melt some dark chocolate pieces.  Drizzle chocolate over popcorn and mix well so most of the popcorn is chocolate covered.

Lay the popcorn out on a parchment lined cookie sheet and by using a tube of red gel cake frosting, drizzle sparingly over chocolate covered popcorn.    Place into the refrigerator until the chocolate has hardened.

The Fang-licious Cone Holders for Popcorn:

Cut a piece of black card-stock in half and fold into the shape of a cone.  Staple or tape it together to hold its shape.  Make some parchment paper cones a little smaller than the card stock cones by using the same method except tape together and fold the tip of the cone up and tape securely.  Make sure the parchment paper cones fit snuggly into the cardstock cones.  Once the chocolate on the popcorn has hardened, break apart and fill the fang-licious cone holders.

I am telling you.. this is a really cool thing to do and yummy at that!!

Bloody Sparkling Punch

Mix together:

Can of Cherry Fruit Juice
Pint of orange sherbet
Add some thin slices of oranges and maraschino cherries
Right before you get ready to serve the punch Add
7-up or club soda (depends on the sweetness of the juice)

This is just optional:

Dampen the rim of the glass with either a little water or some of the punch.  Add some edible white glitter in a saucer and twist rim of glass in it.  This will add a little more sparkle.

Mushroom Delights

*Trust me, these are Fang-licious!!

Chop some walnuts in a food processor.
Add ½ cup finely chopped mushrooms
¼ -1/2 cup of unsalted bread crumbs
Sauté some finely chopped onions and celery together with a little pepper and add to the mixture
Melt some unsalted butter
1-egg white
Seasonings of your choice, I use black pepper and Ms. Dash Table Blend

Mix everything together and make sure the mixture is damp but not soaked.

Next:

Take a dampened towel and wipe off some mushroom caps.  I actually do this in advance and use the slices to chop up in the mixture.  But slice a little off of the top of the mushroom so it sits flat on a cookie sheet.  Fill each cap with some mixture and sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Witchy Stuff is not just for Halloween

Regardless of popular belief, witches are not just out on Halloween. Not all witches have green skin, warts on their nose and crackle like they have a frog in their throat! Yes, Great Pumpkin witches are everywhere, every day and all around you.  Here are some links that may interest you.

To read the full article just click on the click and like MAGIC you will go where the article is!

Burning Black Candles:  Burning black candles often has a negative connotation because they are associated to witchcraft, evil and darkness. However, wearing dark colored clothes especially black is considered very fashionable and sensual. Decorating your home with black decor is very stylish. Do you believe there is a difference between burning black candles and/or wearing or decorating your home with black colors?

Kitchen Witch: What in the world is a Kitchen Witch? It is a woman who places magic in every aspect of her home. Everything from cooking to cleaning to decorating and gardening. She is the 'Keeper of the Home' who ensures it remains safe, cleansed of negative energy and is nurtured on all levels.

Cauldrons:  On Halloween the two things most associated with the witch is the broom (besom) and the cauldron. Very seldom will you see a picture of a Halloween witch without seeing her with either a broom, a cauldron or a black cat.  It appears that on Halloween everything is seen through different light and excitement. Actually, the cauldron is a very interesting piece of equipment. It has all kinds of stories attached to it along with legends, myths, and tales.

Triple Moon Goddess Symbols:  The Trinity of life is something that is very important, regardless which path you walk. From my earliest childhood memories, my grandmother taught me about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is known as the male aspect of the trinity. As I walked a little further on my path, I began to understand more about the triple goddess aspect in my own life: the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone.

Wise Woman Herbal Healing:  Healing Wise is one of the best books I have ever owned. I have referenced back to this book so much that I am afraid the pages are going to fall out. Susun Weed, who is the author teaches us the importance of using herbs that grow in our own backyards and reconnecting the invisible thread that was given to us from our fore-mothers.

Kitchen Witch Yule Drink:    Yule is a celebration of the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and below the equator winter solstice falls around June 21.  Winter Solstice takes place on December 21 and it celebrates the rebirth of the Sun. It marks the shortest day of the year when daylight is the shortest. That is one reason why Yule is celebrated with lighting of a lot of candles to represent the Sun's Light.

Halloween Hauntings

I use to write on a really popular site, but they closed down. My main niche has always been anything to do with the paranormal.  So I am trying to get back on track and get my stuff posted again. As of this moment, I only have a few articles written out, but I can promise you... within the next two weeks... this page will be filled!!

To read the complete article, please click on the links.

The Scariest Places on Earth-The Paranormal : I first started writing about the scariest places on Earth back in August 2008 on a different site. Since that time, I have deleted my information and this is a revised copy of the first article I wrote about the scariest places.  My original thought process was to write about the hit series 'Scariest Places on Earth' hosted by Linda Blair, but the article turned into something completely different.  It turned into an article that took many different turns until it finally became something all of its own.

It became a resource page where many people began to share their paranormal stories, organizations became available to help others who felt like their life had been turned upside down. So in short.. my Scariest Place on Earth became a very useful paranormal resource page!!

Unexplained Occurrences in Georgia: Imagine living your whole life not ever acknowledging the paranormal. You have never had an interest in it, you never experienced anything paranormal that you know of, but out of nowhere things begin to happen that cannot be explained. You scratch your head and wonder what in the world is going on? Is this my imagination? Am I losing my mind?

But when physical things start appearing and there is absolutely no explanation, you have to stop and wonder, could this house be haunted? The events I am going to share with you are all true. I am not going to give names or exact locations. But what I will share is this home is in Georgia, and I know the people very well that live in it!

Ghost Spirits and Hauntings:  I write a lot about this topic, not because it gives me thrills to be scared, but because I hope throughout my writing I am able to help others and also continue to find my own answers. One of the most horrible things is to not feel comfortable living in your home, which is suppose to be your safe haven. The one thing that I have been able to bring to focus is the fact that often people will not speak about their haunting experiences for the fear of being ridiculed and/or not truly believing in what is happening is real. While other will accept it and bring in paranormal investigating teams to help fix the hauntings.

Cemeteries and the Paranormal:  I was in another state photographing in this very old (1865 to exact) cemetery and it was the most peaceful place I have visited in a long time.  There were no eerie feelings or cold spots, it was just calm and quiet.  There was one section of the cemetery that I noticed a lot of Raven's hung around.  It was a spot towards the very back and the first thing that came to my mind was how Ravens have a connection with the spirit world.  So I had to wonder if perhaps the Ravens were there for the people buried in those spots.

Paranormal Questions-What If :  Have you ever had paranormal experiences that leave this huge question mark over your head? You think to yourself, is this my imagination? Am I day dreaming? Well, this is an article I wrote about a few things that were paranormal.. after the questions I have listed some answers.. let me know what you think.

Haunted Paranormal Stories: This is a collection of stories from you the visitors who have visited my page and shared your stories with me. I hope it never stops, even though the layout may be different if you ever want to share your haunted story with me.. please contact me either on Hugpages or this Blog.. I would love to hear from you.

Spiritual Protection and the Paranormal:  This is a very important page I believe. If you are living in a home that is haunted or has negative energy and you feel like it needs cleansed. This article has several different techniques that could help you.

Delicious Autumn Recipes

Click on the links and it will take you directly to the recipe.

Pumpkin Cake Supreme : This is another recipe that came from an old Church Cookbook. Members from church, will gather together recipes that have been in their families and they put them together creating a cookbook.  I love the fact that the recipes are passed down and also how back in the day, money was a lot tighter than today' so homemakers needed to know how to make a $1.00 go a long way.

Pumpkin Dream Pie: Here is one of my favorite pumpkin recipes, that I know will make your heart happy and make your family smile.  Not this particular recipe but many other Southern recipes are usually passed down from generation to generation which in my book makes the recipes even better!!

Making Homemade Apple-Butter: When it comes to Autumn, cooking, canning and your house smelling of cloves and cinnamon just makes everything wonderful!  Apple-Butter has been one of my most favorite foods since I was a young child. I use to love it so much (and to be honest, I still do) that I could eat it right out of the jar.

Apple Carrot Muffins:  I have always associated apples with Autumn. It seems like the apples are a little sweeter, a little crisper and bigger in size.  Just the right kind of apples that are fantastic to use for caramel apples for Halloween, or Apple Carrot Muffins... which you will love!!

Another Apple Salad: This is a salad that can be made any time of the year. Since I associate Autumn with Apples, I like making it a lot in the Fall. Trust me when I say.. this salad is good alone or with Ginger Snap Cookies!!

Halloween 2015

It is so hard to believe that Halloween is almost here...
I wrote a Halloween Poem that I think you may or may like. You will have to guess the theme I created it from. Are you ready?

Night of Halloween
(c) 2015 Eva Thomas aka WhiteOak

It's Halloween time and all through the woods
little ghost and goblins awakening, just as they should.
Me in my witches hat and papa in his cloak,
have just started setting up the house and noticed the rope.

The little ones are excited and planning their route,
while visions of screams do not make them pout.
Excitement roars in their little heads,
squeaking laughter is made that could awaken the dead.

Full moon night awaits,
all of the spooky things plan their escapes.
Bats gathering near and far,
polishing their fangs for the blood thirst bar.

As we celebrate this beautiful Halloween Night..
and all of the ghost are gearing up to fright,
remember try not to walk alone,
as the curse goes you could turn to stone.

Blessed Be to all of the witches,
remember to gather your oak switches.
And give honor to those who have passed.
Now fly in the night and make it last..

Fly away, Fly away, beautiful witches
Spread your joy of all good wishes,
Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain
To all the true believers that do not pretend!!

Here is a Video that I created to highlight a few of Halloween Designs.. Enjoy!!
